Strømbu Rest Area is the natural base for mountain walks westward in Rondane and eastward in Sølnklettområdet. The roof terrace has benches, seating areas, and a delightful view of the mountains, river and a landscape featuring clear traces back to the Ice Age. Large, disability- friendly toilet facilities is located in a building nearby. There is a good parking lot, and walking paths in almost every direction.
Strømbu Rest Area is situated in the valley of Atndalen in Folldal Municipality and run by the firm Rondane rast og info, owned and operated by people in Nord-Atndalen. We offer tourist information, kiosk, traditional local baking and crafts, lounge with a fireplace and spectacular views through panoramic windows.

The Atna River, which is extremely family-friendly, flows gently past the rest area. There are many nice places along the riverbank to stop for a rest or camp overnight. In Atndalen, there are many mountain roads and paths, and the road 27 is well suited for cycling. NOK 200 for the first day and NOK 150 for the second day. This package includes a bike, helmet and a high visibility vest. You will get good advices and a map on your trip.
