Experience live moose up close! At Norsk Elgsenter you get to meet our little moose flock, learn about mooses, try VR-games, climb into the pitfall trap, fish for wooden fishes and read about exciting research projects from around the world. Open cafe in the summer.
We want to inspire and enthuse our visitors with different tasks and challenges such as – Can you work out the population size of fish and wildlife by recognizing pictures of real salamanders or fishing wood-fishes in our dam?
We also want to introduce you a Virtual Reality game where you are looking for wild animals by following tracks in the forest. This will give you an experience of coming close to the animals, but be careful, don’t get too close to the bear…
Evenstad is one of two campuses affiliated with the Department of Applied Ecology and Agricultural Sciences, the smallest department at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences.
Here at our new Moose Center we want to share knowledge that we have.
There will be a path that goes from entrance to the moose, and along this path there are 15 handmade signs that will give you a little bit of information. When you use your QR-code-reader on your phone you will be send to our website that contains more information about the certain subject.
The mooses at Norsk Elgsenter
We have three mooses. Two females called Ronja and Idun and a two-year old bull called Mattis.
Norsk Elgsenter is a visitor center for the hunter, the city girl, the country boy, for young and old. In other words: for everybody!
